Weekend photo: Pulau Cemeti Tamansari - Yogyakarta

Cemeti Island or Pulau Cemeti ... unfortunately not been able to rise to the top floor because the building is damage and fragile and in the process of renovation. Why is it called the island Cemeti ... Because once the building is surrounded by a lake. It used to be a banquet for King of Yogya and his family or relations.

Travel Destinations: Gedung Agung....presidential palace in Yogya

Gedung Agung is one of six presidential palace in Indonesia which located in Yogyakarta, precisely at the end of the road Ahmad Yani (jl Malioboro), opposite Benteng Vredeburg.

In the past, Indonesia moved the capital from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. And from this place, the government was run.

The building itself is a colonial building. So beautiful, especially when you are an architect, you could love with this building.
So, what if you interest to visit to this place and make this place as your destination? Is it open for public??

Well ... this place is open to the public from Monday through Thursday starting at 9 am until 2 pm.
And ... it's free.

But there are some things that you should know before you visit Gedung Agung.

  • You have to submit a letter of permission to visit first, a week before the day you want to visit. You could send the letter to Gedung Agung. Better you drop it by yourself.
  • Gedung Agung only receive visitors in a group. Family or individual tourists are not allowed.
  • After you receive the permit letter from Gedung Agung, then you can visit according to the date and time that have been set for you.
  • There are some rules for the clothes. You cannot wear jeans, t shirt, sandals/flip flops. Do not wearing mini skirt or shorts. Pants, shirt, and shoes is the best clothes to visit Gedung Agung.
  • Carrying bags during the visit is not allowed. But don't worry!!! You can leave your bags in Gedung Agung security post
  • Only one photographer in a group.

Although it's free, but we will accompanied by a guide during the tour. Just don't try to give them incentive. Because they will absolutely reject it.
Do you interest to make Gedung Agung as your next destination??? Just drop your permission letter and enjoy the Gedung Agung tour!!!

Wediombo Beach....

After years, we've only knew Parangtritis as must visited beach if you are visiting Yogya. Well, I'll give you another option, an amazing beach you have to visit if you are visiting Yogya, instead of Parangtritis Beach or Parangkusumo Beach. That is...Wediombo Beach

Located in Gunung Kidul, at Desa Jepitu Giri Subo, about 25 km from the town of Gunung Kidul Wonosari, this beach has different characteristic comparing to Parangtritis. It has a white sandy beach with blue water, surrounded by green hills.

How we get there??

The road to this beach can be passed either by car or bus. But, of course, you have to be careful because the road is quite narrow and winding. There are two paths that can be taken:

Line 1: Through along the beaches in Gunung Kidul - Tepus - Girisubo - Wediombo.

Line 2: Through Wonosari - Semanu - Jepitu - Wediombo

If you do not have a car and want to use public transport then first you have to go to Terminal Giwangan. Then find the Yogya - Wonosari bus. After you arrive at Wonosari bus station , you have to switch to small bus to Jepitu. Then at the junction of Jepitu, you have to take an ojek (motorcycle taxi) to Wediombo.

So, after we arrive at Wediombo, what can we do there?

Of course you can enjoy the scenery (especially the sunset), you can fishing there even hiking in the hills surrounding the beach.

Another things you should know!!!
Unfortunately around this beach, there are no good accommodation. There were only small shops located at the seaside, selling sate or snacks and mineral water. The access that connecting the beach and the car park still a gravel road.

Then, after playing all day on the beach ... you can rinse your body at public bathrooms that have been provided by local residents. And it's not free ....

Culinary: House of Raminten: the new way to eat 'nasi kucing'.

Have you ever heard "nasi kucing"? In Yogya, this is very popular. Nasi Kucing is a rice with oseng tempe , or sambel teri as a dishes and usually served wrapped in paper. This kind of food can be categorized as hawker food so it usually sell at stalls.
Nowadays in Yogya, 'nasi kucing' can be found at the restaurant. House of Raminten-located in Jl. FM Noto 7 Kotabaru Yogya- brings the 'angkringan' concept into a restaurant.
This restaurant is.unique. You could feel the java atmosphere here from the first time you walked into this restaurant. I could smell the aroma of the myrrh. The waiters and the waitress were wearing a javanese traditional clothes. The waitress wearing the 'kemben' and the waiters wearing a 'jarit' with black vest and white shirt.

.

What about the dishes? Like i said in previous, this restaurant brings the angkringan concept so usually many people chose nasi kucing for the dishes and completed by sate or other side dishes..But, if you don't want it, you can choose other dishes such as noodles, fried rice, soto, fried chicken, bubur ayam (chicken porridge) or you just can choose the snacks.
