Cherry Homes...Cheap n Cozy hotel @ Bandung

Finding cozy hotel but cheap is not easy. Usually, the cheap hotel is less clean or the facilities are not complete.
In Bandung, I find this cozy but cheap hotel. The facilities are quite complete too. Its name is Cherry Homes, located on Jl. Babakan Jeruk IV No 37-39 Bandung. This hotel is easy to reach and near with shopping area and Pasteur Toll-road. It's not in the main-road side, so.. if you need a quiet place to stay...you can stay here.

I stayed here because of the recommendation from my friend. I want to spend the weekend in Bandung with my family, so besides cheap, I also need a clean and comfortable hotel.

What about the facilities
From the Cherrys Home official website, we can see the acilities at this hotel is quite complete. There is wifi, cable tv in every room, hot / cold water ( Ushower), ac, and eat breakfast. This hotel also has a mini market and a restaurant *i don't remember the restaurant's name*. For the breakfast, there are some options menu, like toast, omelete, rice, chicken porridge, noodles...,not too much variety but the taste is good . The breakfast area is unique. It's in the open space area and surrounding with the rooms.

The room size is not too narrow (maybe 'cause I stay in superior room), but the size of the bathroom is really narrow. When I have to bathe my son..I feel like I need more and more spaces to move.

And the price...

The price is about Rp 200.000-Rp. 350.000 (US$ 25-45$, US$ 1 = Rp. 8000), depending with the type of the room. But it's really worth it with all the facilities that we could get.

Things you have to know

  • Because the location is not at the main-road side and you don't have car, you have to walk for 5-10 mins to reach this hotel.
  • The access to hotel is really bad...so...very careful driving is a must
  • The wifi is not excellent. I stay in 2nd floor...and my cell phone can not reach the wifi...
  • After midnight...the portal in the hotel's street is closed. So if you plan to go back to the hotel after midnight..you have to call the hotel and the hotel officer will open the portal

Backpacker Hostel

Backpacker hostel is the answer for low-budget tourists . Some people argue that it's better to spend their dollars for an experience rather than to pay for accommodation. While finding the right hotel backpacker needs its own strategy.

Browsing the internet is the first thing to do.There are many websites that can supply the informations or the reviews about a hostel, to name but a few: TripAdvisor, Hostelworld, and Hostelbookers These websites could help us to decide which hostel that we should choose, of course based on what we needs.

Not many people understand exactly how the backpacker hostel is. In general, a backpacker hostel has several dormitory, and sometimes there are some hostels that provide female dorm. A female dorm is a dormitory that can only be occupied by women only. In addition  there are some hostels which also provide private room which usually consist of single, double, triple and even quad.
If we are talking about the price, there is a difference between the dorm and the private room The dorm price is usually calculated based on per bed while private room  price is  based on per room.
Backpacker hostel facilities are usually quite complete. Wifi, pool table, internet service, washing machines and irons, and some even provide television. Some hostels also provide light breakfast, such as cereals, coffee, and toast and jam.

The hive...it's a nice place to stay...

It was a sunny day when we walked in Serangoon Road try to find our hostel. According on the google map, it wasn't far from Boon Keng MRT station. But, we made a mistake. We didn;t exit at Boon Keng Station. We exit at Farrer Park. And for it, we must walked for about 10 mins to Hive Hostel. Located in 624 Serangoon Rd Singapore, actually this hotel is easily reach. This hostel near with  two MRT station: Boon Keng and Farrer Park.

The first thing I did when I arrived in this hostel is buying a mineral water while my friend checked in. Too bad, we came earlier from check-in time so the rooms for us were not ready yet. Then, we decided to left our luggage and put it into luggage room.

Like other hostels, this place has standard facilities. There are some groups of tables in the lobby and can be use for dining table, some PCs that free to use, and pool table. The facilities in the rooms are similar with other hostel I've ever stayed before.

It was really a good time when I  stayed there. Just visit The Hive's website for further information..!!!
